NOCCA 2025 to be held in Rovaniemi

The Nordic Conference on Climate Change Adaptation will be hosted by Finland in 2025, from May 14 to 15 in Rovaniemi. A call for abstracts is out with January 31 as a deadline.

The 7th Nordic Conference on Climate Change Adaptation will explore the limits to adaptation in the Nordic context. Practitioners, researchers and experts will dive into adaptation challenges and opportunities for ecosystems and natural resources, communities and livelihoods. The conference is part of the Finnish presidency at the Nordic Council of Ministers.

Limits to adaptation in the Nordics

  • Ecosystem tipping points in the Nordic region and social limits to adaptation in Nordic societies

  • Local communities, indigenous peoples, and cultures in the rapidly warming Arctic

  • Generational views and youth perspectives on climate risks and adaptation limits

  • Transformational adaptation and concerns regarding justice in adaptation

  • Transboundary climate risks and adaptation efforts in the Nordic context

  • Climate security – a new climate and a new Nordic and European security situation

The types of submissions available for NOCCA2025 include poster presentations, oral paper presentations and session proposals. The organisers have published abstract submission instructions and ask that abstracts are submitted via this link by January 31, 2025.

Decisions on posters and abstracts will be communicated to the presenters in March 2025.
